What is the Video Editing + DaVinci Resolve package?
It is the Video Editing course and the DaVinci Resolve course taught back to back as one 2-month programme at Klick Film & Design School in Addis Ababa. No prior experience is needed for either.
Learning both is what separates an editor who delivers a cut from one who delivers a finished film. Premiere is where the industry collaborates; Resolve is where the grade happens. Knowing both means you can take a job from rushes to a delivered, graded master without handing it to anyone.
What You Will Learn
Course Structure — 2 Months
Month 1 — Video Editing (Premiere Pro). Foundations and first cuts, editing for story, trimming and pacing, multicam, colour and sound in Lumetri and Audition, titles, and export for delivery and social.
Month 2 — DaVinci Resolve. The Resolve pages and editing in Resolve, then the colour page in depth: nodes, primaries and secondaries, scopes, shot matching, power windows, LUTs and looks, plus Fairlight sound and Fusion titles.
Throughout. The second month grades the footage you cut in the first. You finish with a showreel that shows both the edit and the grade.
Class Schedules
Classes meet 3 times per week for 2-hour sessions, with weekday and weekend options at both branches — Mexico (Sengatera Building, 19th Floor) and CMC Michael. A new intake starts every two weeks and seats are limited per class, so the shift you want is worth reserving early.
Graduate Outcomes
Graduates work as editors in production houses and agencies, and as freelancers who can quote for the grade as well as the cut. Colourists are far rarer than editors in Addis Ababa, so the second month is usually what raises a freelancer’s rate.
Many graduates list themselves on Klick Konnect, our creative directory, where clients in Addis Ababa hire directly.
Taking it separately
Either course can be taken on its own: Video Editing runs 1 month at ETB 5,000 and DaVinci Resolve runs 1 month at ETB 10,000, each with its own certificate. The two fees come to the same ETB 15,000 as the package; taking it as a package means the two months run back to back, on the same projects.
